Basic network guidelines
Here’s a list of network guidelines to maximize Remote Desktop administration performance and usability.
If you’re using a wide-area network (WAN), make sure that the defrag bit is turned off on your network devices so packets remain intact.
Organize computers you’re administering into small groups, and quit the Remote Desktop app when you’re not using it. This can reduce network traffic by reducing the number of status queries.
Use separate computer lists for clients with different connection methods (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). If you have a group of clients with particularly slow connections, create a separate computer list for this group. A single slow connection can affect network operations.
