Use a Task Server to create reports

You can use a dedicated Task Server to collect your report data, if you have another unlimited-managed computer license for Remote Desktop. If you purchased Remote Desktop from the App Store, you can use the same license for the administrator computer and the dedicated Task Server.

To use a Task Server, you need:

  • A computer that’s running when the clients are set to upload their report data

  • A Remote Desktop unlimited client license for the Task Server

  • A Remote Desktop unlimited client license for the administrator computer

  1. Install Remote Desktop on the server.

  2. Configure the server as a dedicated Task Server using Remote Desktop preferences.

  3. Use Remote Desktop preferences to set the administrator computer to use the Task Server as its source for report data.
