Keep track of tasks
You can keep track of the status of each task, stop or restart active tasks, and view completed tasks.
See the status of the current task
In the sidebar of the Remote Desktop window, click Active Tasks, then select a task.
Automatically show task status in the main window
Choose Remote Desktop > Preferences, then click Tasks.
Select “Always change focus to active task.”
Stop, restart, or duplicate a running task
In the sidebar of the Remote Desktop window, click Active Tasks, then select a task.

Do one of the following:
Stop the task: Click Stop.
Restart the task: Click Retry.

Duplicate the task: Choose File > Duplicate.
The task is copied, along with all its settings.
View completed tasks
After a task receives feedback from all the participating client computers, or experiences a communication timeout, it’s moved to the history list.
In the sidebar of the Remote Desktop window, click History.
To view the history in a new window, choose Window > Task History.
Enable a task notification script
You can create a custom notification script and have Remote Desktop run it when tasks are complete. The script must be a shell script, but you can use various other scripting environments like AppleScript with the osascript
command.
Choose Remote Desktop > Preferences, then click Tasks.
Select “Enable task notification script.”

Choose the location of the script.
The default notification script is located at /Library/Application Support/Apple/Remote Desktop/Notify.
